FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi bagged another hattrick in a match against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday, where his side won 4-2. The goals led to a constitute a historical record for Messi – 50th career hattrick and 650th career goal. The Argentine international scored his goals with class and technique – a stunning left-foot volley, a right-footed swinger and a chip over Sevilla keeper Tomas Vaclik. His partner-in-crime Luis Suarez also found the back of the net to complete a four-goal haul against Sevilla.
The Catalan giants came from behind against hosts Sevilla, who took an early lead after former Manchester City winger Jesus Navas netted a goal at the 22nd minute of the match. Messi found an equaliser just four minutes later but Sevilla’s Gabriel Mercado aided his side to a second lead in the 42nd minute in the first half.
However, the second half was all about an inspired Lionel Messi and Barcelona, as the striker found the net again at the 67th minute and 85th minute. The five-time Ballon Dór winner is in great form this season and is the current top scorer of Sapin’s top-flight football league, La Liga.
